Implemented by the State of Florida on October 1, 2003, this system was designed to assure both the consumers and the state of Florida that products which are being installed on all projects meet the standards of the Florida building code. The system also provides for a third party independent reviewer to provide accountability and set higher standards for product evaluations, as well as uniformity and consistency of enforcement throughout the state.

Products which must have this approval currently are:

• Garage Doors

• Stucco Systems

• Siding and Soffit Systems

• Tile, Shingle and Metal Roofing

Consumers should ask their contractors if they are using materials or products that are Florida approved. Ask them to give you the Florida Product Approval Number. You should also verify this number with your local building department or go to: www.floridabuilding.org

On this website you will be able to search a product or the manufacturer of a product to verify that they have received Florida Product Approval.

Avoid losses and costly repairs due to substandard materials and non-approved installation practices used in new construction or remodeling which can potentially be costly and can possibly involve mandatory removal of these materials and products if they are not Florida Product Approved.

Streamline’s Standing Seam Metal Roof Systems are Florida Product Approved and are inspected every three months by a representative of Underwriters Laboratories.
